Nice pictures MM, looks like it wasn’t crowded. We found it to be overcrowded. We tried to enter free as locals but those guys were smart enough to catch us. I wanted to post a blog on Kandy but couldn’t get good pics from my album.
BTW you can check my post on Nuwara Eliya, pics aren’t clear as I couldn’t find it in my disk, uploaded compressed pictures.
Thanks a lot Mayank! On the contrary, it was severely crowded. We went on the day of a festival so there was a huge queue – I’ve put up a pic of the queue. And that’s also why there’s no photo of the actual tooth relic- we couldn’t see it with all that crowd! It’s crazy. Hehe how did the locals catch you – as in how did they know? I’ll definitely check out your post .
It is like their Tirupati or Vaishno Devi Temple. We managed to view the ToothRelic but pictures are not clear, just a part of it is visible and also because I had an old camera that time. I guess the guards managed to differentiate us from our clothes or camera or may be they knew our driver cum guide. But overall we liked the place.
Hehe, there are many similarities between Indians and Sri Lankans appearance-wise, but somehow you still can differentiate between them. Maybe that’s how they found you out. Yes it’s a lovely, scenic place. We had a lovely view from the guest house where we stayed.
These pictures are amazing! I’m Sri Lankan myself, but I’ve never had the chance to visit the country. I’m always so fascinated by all the pictures and stories
Thank you so much . I’m honoured you liked the photos. I think Sri Lanka is a lovely country and if you go back ‘home’ sometime, then you could make a trip to these wonderful places there . Thanks so much for visiting and following my blog
Great photos emanating the spirit of Sri Lanka. Bless You.
