This is something I had written in 2006. Might have even been earlier than that. I know it isn’t an awesome poem or anything, but I still put it up
.
I picked up shadows in the dust,
I put them to my eyes,
And cried like I never had.
There once were ripples in the sky,
The wind blew them away,
The silhouettes in the water
Had faded someday.
I did not know, I did not watch,
But the world grew old one day…
The painted sky had turned bland,
The shore avoided the sea,
And loftily, slowly,
Guns had slapped the earth,
Bombs had torn her heart,
All was bleeding, breaking, weeping…
I did not know, I did not watch,
But the world was slowly changing…
Trees had turned to torches,
The sky had turned to smoke,
Everywhere the smell of burning, choking,
Children feebly wailing,
Voices blew up in the alleys,
Words had turned to chalk,
Everything was anarchic,
Lawless, domineering…
I did not know, I did not watch,
But this world had started ending…
I like simple poem, because I have a simple mind, and limited vocabulary. You know, a good poem, or that touch our heart, consists of thousands of words and feelings, that merge into just a few words that light up the candle in our heart. So each every word, is just in place. I have written many poems that I don’t even want to read myself the second time, but yours has a good wish to the world, and that is precious thing in the poem, and I definitely will read it many times =)!
Life is a poem, when you have been through it, look back, and give it a smile. You are my inspiration too, keep sharing and one day, the good thing will come back to you.

You explain things so beautifully. You’re right. Those are the most powerful poems – that stir emotions in you. Thank you so much – you always say such nice things about my posts
!
And it’s true – life is like poetry.
Thank you. Your lovely, short poems are an inspiration to me too, because they say so much but take up such little space
.
Beautiful!
Thank you so much!
You have a gift. I especially like the line, “The shore avoided the sea” – wonderful!
Thank you! That’s probably the nicest thing I’ve heard about my poetry! I appreciate it very, very much. Thank you!
